About IIT Tirupati

The Indian Institute of Technology at Tirupati was announced in 2014 by the Government of India along with five other 3rd generation IITs. The Institute welcomed its first batch of undergraduates in four core branches of engineering in August 2015. The Institute has since developed an environment that fosters innovation, with emphasis on fundamental knowledge through practical work and projects. IIT Tirupati has started M.S (Research) and PhD programmes in 2017. As an Institute of national importance, IIT Tirupati has shown potential to grow into an academic and research Institute of great repute.
Alongside academics, there are also various clubs at the Institute to cater to the extracurricular interests of students. Even in the nascent stages of the Institute, the students have participated in Inter IIT technical, cultural and sports meets. This has given them the opportunity to interact and compete against the other brightest minds of the nation and has pushed them to perform better year after year.
